What to pack on your trip to Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is a summer destination, in which good weather prevails throughout the year. Which is an advantage when preparing your suitcases, since it allows you to travel light. But, in addition, there is a lot to do on the island, and if you have a plan, you must be prepared for each activity you want to do.

Comfortable clothes for summer
We already mentioned that Lanzarote’s temperatures are pleasant all year round. It is usually between 17 and 24 °C, and in addition, it is a beach destination. So you will need clothes that fit you well for the beach.
The main thing is the swimsuit, you can not forget it, because the main attraction of the island is the beaches. There is one for every taste, so you will surely find one where you will want to have a bath.
Along with the swimsuit, you will also need fresh clothes, shorts, t-shirts and beach dresses. For your walks around the island, the idea is to be as comfortable as possible.

Versatile clothing for changing weather or excursions
Pack one or two lightweight long-sleeved T-shirts for cool evenings or to protect yourself from the sun during the day. Also bring a linen or cotton shirt, which can be worn both during the day and for dinners or nights out.
As for trousers, both men and women can take linen, chinos, or joggers in a light shade, suitable for walks as well as casual dinners. For women, a lightweight dress can work for both day and night.
What shoes to take to Lanzarote?
Let’s start here with the most basic: sandals for the beach. Although, some beach shoes would also be useful, because in many sandbanks there are stones that could hurt your feet.
Wear comfortable shoes for excursions and walks through the towns. They can be made of canvas, since they are fresh and light, and they also do not take up much space in the suitcase.
Finally, pack some trekking shoes -if they are boots, even better-. In Lanzarote, there are numerous routes for hiking, adapted to different levels of difficulty.
This year, for example, the route Del mar al río that crosses Teguise was launched, and if you like hiking, you will want to discover it.
You also have the opportunity to tour the volcanoes, Timanfaya, La Geria, the routes to the beaches. For these walks, you need shoes that are resistant and protect your feet during walks.
If you plan to go out at night during your trip to Lanzarote, bring casual shoes such as espadrilles, loafers or sandals suitable for dinners or going out dancing.
Hiking equipment
In addition to clothing and shoes for hiking, you need other trekking implements. So you will be ready for excursions through the volcanic terrain.
Take a backpack, which will not only be useful for hiking, but also to carry your belongings during walks to the beach.
A pair of trekking poles will come in handy for treks over uneven terrain. These will help you keep your balance and take firmer steps on some routes.
Sport equipment
Are you one of those travellers who like to practice sports when they travel? If so, in Lanzarote you will have the opportunity to do it, so do not hesitate to take what you require.

While you’re on holiday, don’t neglect your skin, especially in a destination like Lanzarote. You will surely spend a lot of time on the beach, doing excursions in Lanzarote and outdoor activities. Therefore, your personal care items are essential.
Be sure to bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, or a cap.
In addition, it includes other personal care items, such as shampoo and conditioner. The island environment will make your hair more delicate, and you will have to take good care of it.
Pack moisturizer and an after-sun lotion or gel to care for your skin after sun exposure. Also bring small wet wipes, which are useful for any eventuality.

You should always travel with a small first aid kit to cover minor issues or discomforts on your holiday. This should include around 6–8 painkillers, 4–6 anti-diarrhoeal tablets, and 4–6 antihistamines for allergies. Don’t forget any personal medication along with your prescription.
Also include plasters of different sizes for cuts or blisters, plus an antiseptic. Add blister plasters if you plan to do a lot of walking during your trip.
You can also bring a small hand sanitizer and insect repellent for the evenings.
Keep these items in a transparent, well-sealed pouch or case, which makes inspection at the airport easier.
Adaptors and Chargers
Spain uses type F plugs (two round pins, 230V, 50Hz). If your country doesn’t use this type, bring a universal adaptor or a specific type F adaptor. Don’t forget your USB cable and the charger for your phone and any other devices you’ll be using.
You might also want to carry a power bank if you plan to spend whole days away from your accommodation.
Also remember to bring your camera to document all your walks and towels for the beach.

Browse the shops in the town where you are staying, or ask at your hotel where you can buy something specific. Some of the best places to go shopping in Lanzarote are Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen and Teguise.
